A Calefactio installation

Calefactio participated in the design of this state of the art installation that includes a few of our products. This single-home in the Laurentians is heated at first by a coil diffusing heat thought a ventilation system, and a radiant heating system supports it as secondary system.

A high efficiency condensing boiler will heat the water  (140°F) that will be distributed in a coil within the ventilation ducting. This first stage of heating will have a “high” priority between the two thermostat input of the boiler. The boiler has also been configured to respect a certain priority delay.

The second thermostat input of the boiler will be dedicated to the radiant heating system which will adjust the water set point according to exterior temperature.

The variable speed pump will provide sufficient cirulation to all manifolds. This same pump will automatically adjust the flow depending on the actuators openings or closings.

This system is also equipped with devices allowing remote control (gateway).

A lot of Calefactio products were needed for this system such as CondenSAFEΔP pump flanges, Calbalance, HGT Series expansion tank, three Caltherm Pro manifolds and actuators.

In systems using expansion tanks, it is utterly important that the tank has the same pressure than the system in static mode so it does not impact the capacity of the expansion tank. Plomberie Claude Boulet recently completed a 14 000 sq ft radiant heating project for Mini-Entrepôts St-Jean. The design and material supply was made in collaboration with Pier-Rick Rodier Rochefort from Empire Canada. In order to cover the whole heating demand of this surface, 12 000 ft of Calpex –R 5/8 and 7000 ft of Calpex-R ½ tubing were required, […]
